Just a note to let you all know that we are preparing for Zakary's next surgery. He will have a bone graft where they will put some synthetic bone where his open cleft on the right side is. This will help fill things in and make his adult teeth a better experience. This coming week he and i will spend most of Thursday at the hospital for several different pre op appts,the surgeon,the pediatrician the anesthesiologist and so on. Then Friday the 16th we will go doen for the big day.
The surgery will take a couple and half hours we were told with a recovery period of a couple weeks where he will need to be sorta kept slow,no real physical activity that could cause him to get his mouth hit,soft foods like after his palate repair so i will have a week off work with him after the surgery. THis is and in and out surgery,unlike that palate so we should be home that afternoon/eve and recoopertaion at home. I have taken a few pics of his mouth now,the little mouth that we love so much,we have grown so accustomed to since we brought him home. He will have a new smile that i will post pics of after the surgery and i will post throughout the process of preparing and recovery. Keep him in your thoughts the next few weeks as he will do well but will need some encouragement. Thanks to all you friends and family.
