Poor baby kate has had a bad ear infection in one ear and actually perforated an eardrum in the other ear. She has had a hard week so Thursday Zak and I drove up early to get her and give the usual day care provider a day off. We had a great day with Baby Kate and fortunatly she seems to be feeling much better,at least for nana she was.

Denmark finally!! Febuary 2010

The second part of our really big trip was to Denmark. After a few days back east in Delaware after the really big storm we traveeled on to Hammberg Germany where we landed and rented a car. We drove to our friends home in Denmark, about a 2 hr drive from Germany.
We met these friends actually before we went to China to adopt Zak,we met on line in one or two of the adoption groups and then actually met in person in Guangzhou. Their son Davie is from Donguan as is Zakary. Davis was 5 yrs old earely December so he is right in between laurel and Zak age wise.
We stayed with their family at their lovely home and ate Annettes wonderful cooking. We enjoyed looking around, the kids enjoyed eachothers company and we loved the snow.
The family who adopted Zaks one of Zaks foster sisters also lives in Denmark only to discover that the two families are friends from before the adoptions. We took a lovely drive out into the country and visited their family one day. What a wonderful trip. Their daughter is a bit over a year older than Zak and they since then also have another younger daughter from China as well. They aer the nicest of fam, ilies ans were so nice to have us into their home to meet them, the kids and have a lovely lunch. We had a great time and wished we had had a lot longer but thats the way it goes. We are hoping that our friends the Van Burens will come and visit us in the future,a year or two perhaps.
The kids were great travellers. Poor zak,he is physically an awesome traveller,he just puts on his back pack, pulls a pull on and troops right along but he sure doesnt like to be away from home for too long. He had a couple very hard nights, not to mention the 9 hr time change. Nights were long.
We returned home and had well over a week of tough jet lag, dont recall nearly this much trouble coming home from China, perhaps it was cuz i wasnt right back to work.
For the most part we are all back and to normal, whatever normal is for us. Laurel says she is ready to go visit Sister Deirdre,Zak says "not me,i will stay home with mom" I think we are home now for a bit but we certainly did have a great time.

BIG ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!!!!

Zakary earned his yellow belt in TAE KWON DO!!! he did all his routines,AND recired the school oath(perfectly i might add) AND broke the board in half with his foot(and didnt break any toes at all). He was so very proud of himself as we all are of him. OK>>>>>>>> i cried. I cant believe how far he has come, the confidence level alone he has gained is just tremenous.... We went for Chinese dinner and then came home and fell into bed.
Laurel will be competing in a gymnastic competition mext month as well. She has the chance to earn ribbons as well. Posts of that and pics to follow.
