Zak's first Vallejo Ferry Ride June28 2009
Ya know we live right by the water,we love the water and we are near and r on the water alot. We love the Ferry from Vallejo to SF and we have done it a milliion times to avoid the bridge, the traffic and the miserable parking over there.
laurelhas beena time or two, isaiah a time or two and both kids on Ferriesin Seattle and N. Carolina where you drive your cars on. Today was Zak's first Vallejo Ferry ride. 2 yrs of him with us and the first time we have had the chance to go with him on the ferry. he loved it.
the weather here has been miserable the past couple days so we thought today to stay cool,we'd do the Ferry and wander the city. It was Gay Pride day and the parade going on,there were not alot of people where we were,at the pier and fishermans wharf im sure cuz they were all at and in the parade.
The weather in the city was much more pleasant than here in vallejo and the crowds low so all in all the day was great. the kids loved the boat ride,we saw the Sea Lions and ate hot dogs at Pier 39. Enjoy the photos as we enjoyed taking them

Zakary's ears
many of you know that Zakary had tubes ut in his ears along with his palate repair 2 yrs ago next month, He has done very very well with them but at his annual cranio facial eval they discovered that that they had fallen out and he was full of fluid, thus causing his hearing to be poor. i knew it all along but no one until the actual eval and the official hearing test would admit it so he went along his way not hearing well.
The palate surgeon had been away having his first child so had no avail appts to see him or to redo the tubes, the doc here in vallejo the same, nothing at all avail for a long time.
Finally we got a call that they had opened up a surgery day for July 9 for him in oakland. So, we will go down there, they will do the pre op appts that am and the surgery then, all at one time and place. We will keep you all posted on it all.
Woiuldnt you know,he and laurel start swim lessons that week,we will see where we go from there regarding lessons. ARGH!!!!....
WE are prepping for the 4th of july parade with the gymnastic school and the pre school, both groups march in the parade so Zak and i will decorate the wagon for him and pre school and Dad and laurel will march together with the gymnastic school.
The wagon has had a long winter, its full of dirt and mud from outdoor California winter play. Gona take some work to get it all cleaned out, guess the kids and i have our wekend fun cut out for us. LOL LOL

Laurel graduates pre school
So my Laurel is an official kindergartner now.
She had her little pre school graduation the other day and they are done now for the summer. now my big kids never did pre school graduations so i am not sure really what to make of such a thing,a bit over the edge if you ask me but it was short, sweet and cute.
The kids each made their own little cap with tassle and all and wore little blue capes.
her class was called the "lion cubs". The came across the street from the pre school building to the park where the ceremony was held, all hanging on to the rope so as not to stray, very cute.
The president of the parent co op pre school gave a quick little welcome and a quick story for the kids and then they sang a couple cute songs and were awarded their little diplomas.
There was a light lunch served following and as we were headed from the stage to the lunch area, laurel says "ohhh mom, graduating makes me sooooo hungry" LOL LOL so we got alotta fruit and some cake and played for a bit and then head on our way.
I just cant get over that she will be starting Kindergarten in August,im just not sure how that happened and where the time went.

June 3 2009
Today we went to the Oakland Kaiser Cranio facial clinic annual eval for Zakary.
to make a long visit short. He is doing very very well. The speech therapsit says he has a funny rectangular shaped blunt ended tongue which is making some of his sounds come out rather thick and slurred. His palate is working fine and is not the issue of his speech at all. So she has us working on some sounds at home while the Speech therapy is not going on over the summer. She says his language development is way above that of a 4 yr old so we really need to get the speech sounds to sound as intelligient as he and his speech are.
The surgeon says he will need his bone graft about this time next year,he will have the synthetic bone and they can do it in one surgery. We were expecting this so not a surprise.
The Audiologist says he is having some trouble hearing right now, both tubes are out of the ear canal and there is fluid behind both ear drums. We will see ENT again asap and get some new tubes put in as soon as we can. i knew there was hearing prob, but the pediatrician said all was fine and he could hear. HMMMMm amazing how no one listens to mom and mom usualy knows best.
Akk in all,we had a very good visit and i am happy with what i hear.
We have been so very lucky with Zak,other than the obvious issues that he may have, there have been no other surprises so far.
